  Can Professional Golf be Improved? In my opinion, yes it can. Golf is the best sport on the planet read my blog linked below to understand why I think that. I understand that golf is not for everyone but there are definitely steps that could be taken to create a better, more exciting product for people to consume. Change the Format of Tournaments! As a golf lover, I personally enjoy the four day long tournaments but I can understand why new or more casual viewers could be turned away by this. The current four-day tournament system requires a substantial amount of time to be spent watching the tournament, time many people don't have which could discourage them from watching. The Pandemic Golf has somewhat exploded in the wake of the pandemic, due to it being the only sport that many people could play due to the restrictions. With a wave of new people joining the pursuit of hitting a very small ball into a very small hole, t his brilliant game is rightly starting to get the appreciation and recognition it deserves. This is probably a somewhat controversial and probably unpopular opinion from somebody who is from Scotland, but I think that The Masters is better than The Open and is the best major on the golfing calendar. History of the Championship The course was founded by the legendary Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts in 1933 and hosted the masters for the first time in 1934. The tournament was originally called The Augusta National Invitation Tournament, but the name was changed to The masters in 1939. Does Vijay Singh Deserve More Respect? The short answer to that question is YES. Background As we know golf from the late 90s to the mid-2000s was dominated by Tiger Woods. It is perhaps because of this that Vijay Singh does not get talked about nearly enough in the golfing world, which to me is very sad because he was a tremendous player that deserves more recognition in golfing circles. The man affectionately known as “The Big Fijian” was born in Fiji but is of Indian descent and is well known for his for his ridiculously long practise sessions where he would often hit over 500 balls, my body aches even just thinking about it. He has a notoriously long and slow backswing, and this combined with rhythm that us amateurs can only dream of allowed him to create effortless power and consistency.
